In the Beginning both of my grandfather’s had restaurants in Brooklyn, NY my father and his brother became restaurant owners as well as my father got into the milk business. in the 1950’s, he had a dairy farm on Long Island called Presskee’s dairy we milked cows, had a bottling plant and delivered milk to homes and businesses alike. In the 1960s my father started developing office buildings and Real Estate with Hall of famer Whitey Ford (former Yankee great). We opened a dinner and their first restaurant was called the Villa Pace Catering Hall and restaurant in Smithtown, Long Island New York. I remember washing dishes and prepping foods. Developing Real Estate on Long Island was like the wild frontier as we started in the 60s into the 70s and on. In 1976, we built and opened our first 200 room Hotel located at Islip MacArthur Airport in New York. I remember working construction and then inside with Management operating the Hotel. From that point on, we began to develop many more hotels and became leaders in the hospitality industry. We also expanded into retail, restaurants, multifamily, and other Real Estate ventures spreading throughout the northeast. In 1991, I established George Tsunis Real Estate, Inc. and ventured into the brokerage business. After 40 successful years in New York, In 2012 and I relocated my family to Florida. As we continued to seek new horizons, we established our own niche in extended stay hotel and retail development under SunState Hotels, LLC. We then developed a new Home2 Suites by Hilton in central Florida. SunState Hotels, LLC with our partner’s as we navigated finding the best locations and obtaining approvals throughout the entire development process. Our company also offers construction, site selection, management, all facets of hotel, restaurant, and retail development.
